annabelle, 15 months

the day annabelle was born i received a daily journal as a gift from my aunt to document the many memories we were sure to create. i loved the idea of capturing just one moment from everyday, as opposed to having the daunting task of filling out many blank pages on a regular basis. as it turns out, daily journaling worked for me – but after about a month i started using the notes function on my phone as opposed to the paper journal. for nearly an entire year i documented something each day, usually just a sentence about something cute annabelle did, how i was feeling or a milestone that was reached. i stopped just short of her first birthday and still have every intention of converting those daily memories into some type of keepsake. once i thought the file had been deleted and i almost lost it. but alas, just an archiving error!

anyway, in an effort to get back into capturing the memories i never want to forget i’m going to start sharing a monthly update on our sweet ABB. i can’t believe she’s already fifteen months old! here’s what’s new this month.

she’s really into body parts. she is obsessed with lifting my and ken’s shirt up to discover our stomach and she’s particularly into belly buttons. seems she’s getting us back for all of those tickles we give her.

she’s also into pointing to her body parts. she knows hair, eyes, nose, mouth, belly and feet. it’s amazing how quickly she can catch on to something new after we teach her.

most days when she wakes up she’s so happy, and she loves to tease you by laying in her crib when you go into her room {not wanting to get out}. the mention of milk always gets her motivated to stop the games and get the day in gear.

raspberries are still her favorite food, but she’s eating a pretty good dinner most nights which makes her mama very happy. her favorite vegetable is definitely peas.

she shakes her head yes and no and most often she’s right which is pretty impressive. “annabelle, do you want to get your diaper changed?” {immediately shakes head no.} “annabelle, do you want to take a bath?” {enthusastically shakes head yes.}

the only tv show she really watches is mickey mouse clubhouse and just within the past few days she’s really into it. we usually watch an episode when we wake up and her favorite part is the hot dog dance. i feel like i’ve joined a secret club of parents who know what that means.
