fashion friday: over the knee boots
For the past few years one of the fashion items I get most excited about pulling out once fall rolls around are my over the knee boots. I truly wear them all the time. Starting in September I wear them with dresses and skirts and then as the weather starts to get colder I'll pair them with jeans and tights or leggings for extra warmth. They make me feel instantly confident and put together. Up until recently I only had a pair of brown heeled over the knee boots but I found the pair I'm wearing in these photos for such a great price that I had to grab them now.

Happy Friday, sweet friends! Today I wanted to do a quick roundup of everything I purchased from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The sale ends this weekend which means prices will go up on Monday. If something is sold out in your size I recommend buying the closest size there is now and then exchanging it once things are restocked. I'd rather take advantage of the sale price now than pay full price later!

Since I talked soooo much about fall this week I wanted to take a minute and remind you {and me!} that it is still very much summer. I think I've worn more gingham in the last few months than ever before so I thought it would be fun today to round up a few of my favorite gingham pieces. fashion friday: block heels
For a few years now I've struggled with the desire to wear heels but the realization that they're almost never practical or easy to walk in {especially when chasing around a very active toddler}. Thankfully, the fashion gods are always looking out for me and other ladies who appreciate a comfortable alternative. Block heels {or stacked heels as they're also called} give you the height and elegance you're looking for in a pump but the practicality of a wedge {which I don't wear, if you've noticed}.

fashion friday: backpacks
Today I wanted to roundup one of my most handy, helpful, useful, and cute mom items - backpacks! After Annabelle moved out of diapers we were able to downsize our diaper bag to a much more stylish and convenient to carry backpack. The one I'm wearing in these photos is by Sole Society. I found mine on eBay because it was sold out for so long and I loved the style but it's back in stock now and also comes in brown! It's lightweight, can hold a lot, and the front pockets are really convenient for my phone and keys.
