current boutique

Oh, hey Wednesday that feels like a Monday because I’ve been staycationing for five days but that means that it’s only a three day work week and Friday is my birthday! Insert salsa dancing emoji + champagne cheers emoji here.

Today I have a confession. I have been in a major closet purge mindset and it’s made me fall in love with shopping secondhand again. I go through phases where I want to stockpile everything in my closet and never let any of it go and then a new season comes around or I develop a new mindset and everything must go. Does that ever happen to you?

Usually the catalyst for me is feeling like I have nothing to wear which causes me to reevaluate my current clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories against my style. I actually think it’s rather healthy to purge your closet on an ongoing basis, every six months or so being my personal goal. Lately I’ve been having a lot of luck selling things that I don’t love as much anymore but would make someone else very happy on Facebook of all places. A friend recently added me to a local closet purge group and it’s been so fun to connect with ladies and send all of my unwanted items on to their next adventure.

But let’s not pretend that I’m cleaning out my closet just to make more room for the clothes that are left. Nope. Not my style. Out with the old and in with the new. Or in the case of today’s outfit, the new to me! I was recently introduced to Current Boutique, an online store that buys and sells pre-loved fashion. As someone who frequently shops eBay, ThredUp, and local thrift and consignment stores I like to consider myself a pretty good judge of selection and quality. I can honestly say that I have never seen such an amazing selection of pre-loved gems anywhere else. I’ve spooken about my love of secondhand shopping before – there is something thrilling about discovering something that’s new to you. It’s like a treasure hunt and if I was a pirate Current Boutique would be my first stop every time.

I snagged this J.Crew Collection top that’s one of those pieces that I’m sure I’ll never part with {but I’d like to thank the person that did!}. It’s a super flattering style and the print is so pretty – it can be paired with jeans and slides for a casual look or black pants and pumps for a day at the office. When shopping secondhand I try to stick with brands that I shop often so that I’m comfortable with sizing and how something might fit. It’s so amazing to be able to buy something that normally would be out of my price range at a steep discount. Give me all the designer brands, please!

Here are a few more items I’m loving from Current Boutique: J.Crew Collection top, Kate Spade mini skirt, Yumi Kim tank, Tory Burch skirt, Theory dress, Prada pumps
