you guys, i’m so excited to share the ‘before’ photos of our house with you today!
it’s crazy to think that these were taken less than a week ago and everything already looks so different! ken has made so much progress it’s unbelievable. i promise to share more photos and updates along the way. things are moving quickly because we have to move IN TWO WEEKS {or more accurately 12 days}! also if you follow me on snapchat {i’m lizqbraga} you’ll realize i’ve basically been a single mom for the past few days because annabelle and construction don’t exactly go together but that’s ok! we’re actually having fun.
ok, on to the photos!
the exterior! unfortunately we probably won’t be able to do much to it this year but i have big dreams to paint everything white!
lots of front door potential, we just need new front doors
the entry, to the left is the living room, to the right is the office and entry to the kitchen
office, blank slate
the formal living room, it’s so big i’m not sure how i’ll ever fill it!
formal dining room, with a doorway to the kitchen on the right
the kitchen in all it’s 1965 glory!
breakfast nook
lots of counter space
looking from the kitchen into the family room
the fireplace and built ins that we fell in love with!
the door to the left leads to the screened in porch
hallway off of the family room that leads to the laundry/mudroom, powder room and pantry
so much space, this leads to the garage
the powder room is also quite spacious
the upstairs hallway, leads to 5 bedrooms!
the mater bedroom, should we keep the carpeting?
master bath, how does someone get curtains to match wallpaper?
if you look closely you’ll see dolphins on the tile!
jack and jill bath connecting two of the bedrooms
pristine condition for 60 years old
since the bathrooms are low on the renovation priority list we’ll be living with this blue for a while!
so, do you think we’re crazy? are you excited to follow along? if you have any ideas or renovation tips please share them in the comments below. despite having watched thousands of hours of hgtv we have no idea what we’re doing!
Oy! Spoiler alert but there was no {zero!} hardwood! xo, Liz

Liz, my very best friend is a designer in GR who does edesign. She has a lot of experience, vision and style and I think she could help you, if needed. I’m sending your blog link to her because the before pictures will be like coffee for her this morning! What a fun project–so excited to see how it goes for you and Ken. Good luck!
I’m just now going back and starting to read about your new house and omg I can’t wait to catch up and see where everything is going – this place is a gem!
So spacious and such great light! I definitely see the potential. I wish you’d let me help you. I’m sooooooo bored. Please.
LOVE! I can’t wait to see what you do with it – I see so much potential.
Thanks so much, Melissa! xo, Liz
Please tell me there is a houseful of hardwood under the carpet?! Have fun making it your own! Looks like great bones!
