last week ken and i were invited to iridescense inside the motorcity casino hotel to enjoy dinner and a few cocktails. if you haven’t been, iridescense is the only AAA 4 diamond award-winning restaurant in detroit and in addition to an amazing menu offers the most breathtaking views of downtown detroit.
side note, i’m having so much fun transitioning my wardrobe for fall! i found this dress last week for under $30 and i cannot wait to wear it all fall and winter. i’m obsessed with everything velvet right now and am going to pair this dress with tights and a moto jacket when it gets a bit colder!
and how cute is this clutch? can you believe i didn’t have an animal print clutch before this one? obviously a problem that needed solving.
ok, back to the evening! we started the night in the wine room with champagne and charcuterie. i was informed that this room can be reserved for special events so i’ve been brainstorming ideas for how i can use it ever since!
after the wine room we were seated at the coziest booth and it was still bright enough to enjoy the spectacular view of the city. even though it was a wednesday night it felt like such a special occasion!
our waiter helios {who was so awesome, by the way – if you go you must sit in his section!} recommended the grape cocktail for me and it was so good! i love starting the night with a cocktail in a fancy glass. we also tried steak tartare and the chef brought out a delicious amuse–bouche.
for dinner we had steak, salmon, and a few more cocktails. helios brought me a delicious sauvignon blanc and he just knew my favorites were from new zeland. that’s service!

I’m not really into velvet but you look cute in it. Iridescence was one of the restaurants I considered for my anniversary with my boyfriend but ultimately we decided on Coach Insignia in the GM building. Looks good!
