my tips for the perfect girls night

one of the things i look forward to most is time with my girlfriends. i’m so lucky to have a very close group of ladies that i have been friends with for-ev-er. they’re really more like family and getting together with them for any occasion is a reason to celebrate.

we try to get together about once a month, which isn’t always easy considering busy work, family, and social commitments that we’re all juggling everyday. that’s why i like to keep it simple and low key when it’s my turn to host everyone. sometimes we’ll do brunch, or takeout, but my favorite menu is appetizers, desserts, and wine. besides the company of each other we don’t require anything elaborate to have fun.

typically everyone will bring a dish to pass and being the hostess i prepare a few things to ensure everyone has a great time. here are a few tips to keep your next girls night simple and stress free for you, so that you can relax and enjoy!

when it comes to arranging flowers i have a lot to learn. luckily i’ve found a way to incorporate flowers all over my house in an easy and inexpensive way. by taking a bouquet {mine was $7.99 from trader joes}, an assortment of bud vases, and placing 2-3 blooms in each vase i can make a huge impact for any occasion. typically i’ll put a few in unexpected places, like my powder room or our nightstands. and then i’ll place the rest around the table where the food is.

keep the food easy but not basic

i try to keep my menu to only items that i can buy pre-made or easily make {read: heat up or quickly arrange} at home. thankfully with my friends you don’t get extra points for a homemade meal. if i keep the food simple i have more time to enjoy my company and less time to stress about stirring a pot. and in my opinion cheese and crackers are a complete meal!

we’re busy mama’s who just want a night off. what better way to celebrate being together than with sparkling wine? if you’re looking to elevate your next get together this is it. i love to have a glass of wine every night to wind down and relax but sparkling wine takes it to the next level. it makes me feel fancy and instantly creates a feeling of celebration.

gloria ferrer is not only the first sparkling wine house in sonoma carneros, but also the first to bring back clones from france to plant their vineyard.
