My style has evolved since becoming a mom but not dramatically. I wear more hats and flats than ever before and a backpack has never been more functional than it is today. But overall I think I’ve stayed true to who I am as a woman rather than looking like the stereotypical ‘mom’ all while finding my style along the way.
The key for me is picking pieces that can be dressed up or down and that are versatile enough to pair with different styles and colors. I’ve tried to also nail down a color pallet that helps when buying new things – I mostly wear neutrals like white and black, denim, pink, yellow, blue, and animal and floral prints. Come to think of it, it’s how I approach my home decor as well. Of course I also shop outside of this but having that pallet in mind while shopping helps me quickly and easily narrow down my purchases.
This Pinkblush top is a great example of the versatility I look for. I can wear it on the weekends paired with shorts and flats, or I could wear it on a date night with a pair of jeans and heels. I can also tie it, tuck it, or wear it loosely out which changes the look and increases the rewearability {yes, it’s a new word}.
Has your personal style evolved over the years? I’d love to hear.
