One of my concerns with creating a capsule wardrobe was that I didn’t want it to be boring. Clothes are a way for me to express myself, and how I’m feeling, on a daily basis. Obviously if you’re looking to minimize your wardrobe basics are important but I think it’s equally important to incorporate a few pieces that allow you to add interest and character.
This jacket was one of the pieces I felt really encapsulated my style, plus it’s actually easy to pair with both casual and more dressy looks.
I love her sweet “cheese” smiles. I think almost-three-years-old is my favorite age yet!
Liz Capsule Outfit #2
Varsity bomber jacket. If you’re looking for something more neutral the gray color is super cute!
Detroit love graphic tee. I decided to add this t-shirt to my capsule as opposed to a basic white version. I get so many compliments every time I wear it no matter what neighborhood I’m in and I love supporting local businesses!
Black lace shorts. I wear these shorts all the time {and actually have them in white too}. They’re so versatile and I can’t wait to pair them with tights when it gets cooler!
Satin slides. These are the only sandals I decided to include in my capsule because realistically I’ll only be able to wear them for a few more weeks. This pair has been my most worn of the summer.
Annabelle Capsule Outfit #2
Graphic sweatshirt. Adding a little culture to our cozy clothes.
Denim pants. A staple for sure.
Neon slip ons. These actually aren’t officially part of Annabelle’s capsule but I wanted tacos more than I wanted to argue with a two year old on this particular evening so on they went!
We went for ice cream and afterwards Annabelle kept mentioning that she had the “superhero” flavor.
And I promise I don’t usually spoon feed her but for whatever reason it was working and I was happy not to have to clean up blue ice cream from her clothes. Mom win.
Tomorrow I’ll be revealing my full fall capsule, so be sure to check back then! xo
This jacket is such an excellent piece! I love the pairing of romantic lace, bold colors, and varsity stripes. It’s an unexpected combo that feels very high fashion.
I’ve always been attracted to the idea of a capsule wardrobe, but like you, I don’t want it to be boring or lack my personal touch. I do think it would be fun to blog a whimsical capsule wardrobe. Even if I don’t wear it exclusively, it’d still be fun to curate and share (and see how far I can stretch my favorite pieces!).
