a few weekends ago we were looking for something to do on a sunday so we headed down to detroit’s eastern market. there was a special event highlighting local michigan based businesses and it was really fun to walk around and enjoy the beautiful weather. truth be told i had an ulterior motive behind the day – i wanted to scope out a few spots for our family holiday photos.
this will be the third year that we will be taking photos for our holiday cards. the first year was all about annabelle and last year the entire family {minus juneau} got in on the fun. taking our own photo means that we have to get creative with the location because it has to be tripod friendly. we have an idea in mind for this year and i really, really hope it turns out!
as much as ken focuses on setting up the perfect shot my number one priority is what we’re going to wear. i always want our outfits to reflect our personal style and i hate being too obvious with the theme. plus we all have to coordinate without looking matchy. you know it’s a lot of work!
this oshkosh outfit is a strong contender for annabelle’s holiday photo attire. i have a very strong pull towards blush and pinks this year and i love how this outfit says holidays but it doesn’t scream it. our photos will be taken outdoors and i’d rather annabelle not wear a coat so it’s important that she’s warm while being stylish – of course. the leggings annabelle is wearing are lined with fleece so they’re extra cozy. she’s in love with shoes and boots right now and these are perfect because she can put them on herself and they’re also lined so she doesn’t have to wear socks if i’m not in the mood to force her to. and the vest is really just the sweetest thing ever and keeps her extra cozy.
