the brass edit

i’m not sure if you’ve heard but 2016 is almost over and it’s basically flown by faster than any year i can remember {and i’ve lived through a few of them}. i always get a bit sentimental this time of year but in the best way. there is so much to be thankful for and before we know it we’ll be toasting to another new year and setting resolutions. but first, black friday! it’s happening, friends!

do you know brass clothing? they make truly the most beautiful and timeless wardrobe basics that i’ve ever owned. they’re on a mission to help every woman create the perfect capsule wardrobe and they have a very exciting new program launching this week!

i’m sure you’ve heard of a capsule wardrobe. most people who adopt this way of maintaining their wardrobe would explain it as 20-30 pieces that can be easily mixed and matched to create tons of different outfits. the idea is that no matter how many clothes you have you only end up wearing the things you really love so that’s really all that matters. if you invest in timeless, chic, and quality pieces over time you will build the perfect wardrobe. i’ve actually written about it here, if you’re interested.

this friday brass is launching their edit program. the goal of the program is to help you create a beautiful, foundational wardrobe over the course of six months. first they’ll help you clean out your closet to get clear on what you’re missing. then you’ll choose 1 piece per month for 6 months from their edit collection, 16 timeless core pieces that they believe every woman should own. spoiler alert, the beautiful sweater i’m wearing in today’s post is part of the edit! they spread the experience over six months to help you shop intentionally. no more binge shopping, no more 40% off sale regrets – isn’t that the worst? my mom only buys things that are on sale. even if they are hideous. seriously. mom, listen to this please! this is an investment in your wardrobe {and yourself}.

if you’re interested you can learn more about the brass edit here. and if the edit doesn’t sound like something you need right now that’s ok! maybe you have your personal style down and your closet is like a beautifully curated art gallery. good for you! but you should really check out brass regardless. i’ve had their a-line dress in white for years and it’s one of the most well made and timeless dresses i own. i get compliments on it every single time i wear it {which is a lot} and it still looks brand new even though i’ve washed it about a thousand times. their ponte pant is next on my wishlist. read the reviews, you will be right there with me.

oh and this sweater? puh-lease. i am all about a good crop top {not in that way} and this one is just a dream. can you believe i wore it with pants and over a dress? let me let you in on a little secret, i wore it all weekend too. it’s just one of those cool girl sweaters where as soon as you see it you know it’s definitely something you need to own for yourself.
