It’s the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

Would it be the end of summer without the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? Probably 😉 Either way, fall is around the corner and while I’d rather not think about it from a what does this mean for the pandemic perspective, I’ll happy start chatting all things fall fashion!

In an effort to not overwhelm you {or me} I’ve decided to share only things I currently own or plan to buy for myself. It’s not a short list but it’s not really all that long either. Plus I’ve tried to keep it as organized as possible. As a reminder {or perhaps this is new information}, the sale is available to Nordstrom card members before the general public, and this year your access date depends on your Nordstrom Rewards status. I’m an Ambassador so I’ll be shopping the sale starting this Friday, August 7.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access Dates

Leather Leggings

Turns out, leather leggings and/or pants are shockingly versatile and a wardrobe staple for me. The Spanx Faux Leather Leggings which are part of this years sale even ended up as one of my top purchases of 2019.

I also fell in love with the Crop Straight Leg Faux Leather Pants that Blair Eadie designed as part of her Halogen collection last year and this pair is nearly identical.

I’m planning to pickup the BP. Faux Leather Leggings for when my Spanx are in the wash as well as the Leith Straight Leg Faux Leather Pants because they just look really fun.

Tip: If the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings sell out, don’t panic. They’ll likely restock multiple times and they often go on sale throughout the year at both Nordstrom and other retailers.

Shoes & Boots

I wasn’t blown away by the shoes category this year and honestly that’s ok, because who wears shoes anymore anyway?

My most worn boots from the past two fall and winter seasons have been the Sam Edelman Jennifer Studded Combat Boot {also a top purchase of 2019!} and while they’re not included in the sale both the Sam Edelman Laurie Platform Combat Boot and Steven New York Gardy Combat Boot are very similar.

I also love my P448’s and thought this pair was cute and neutral.

As far as what I’m planning to buy, I’ve had a pair of white boots on my wishlist for months so I’m going to try the Steve Madden Nadalie Pointed Toe Bootie and the BP. Taylor Block Heel Combat Boot.

Jackets & Coats

If you’re only going to buy one thing during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, a jacket or a coat is a great option. Towards the end of last winter Ken threatened legal action if I bought one more coat {our closet can really handle so much} but I’m just going to hope all is forgotten and we can move past that situation.

I highly recommend this Free People Tessa Teddy Coat for chic school drop offs {or school field trips if you’re homeschooling this year ;)}. I have a very similar style from last year and I wore it daily back when we left the house on a regular basis.

I’ve also been loving a tweed blazer to throw on over a tank or a t-shirt for video calls. These Halogen Jackets {here and here} are both great options.

My personal wishlist includes this Avec Les Files Star Double Face Trench Coat {the red stitching kills me} and this Pendleton Park City Water Repellent Down Puffer Coat which looks like something Kate Middleton would wear.

Beauty Exclusives

Another very popular Anniversary Sale category is beauty, because it’s the one thing that rarely goes on sale. It’s also great because quite a few brands create exclusive sets for Nordstrom that you can only buy during the sale.

One of my personal quarantine goals was to grow my brows {and my hair} and I’ve made great progress but I think we’ve hit a wall so I’m going to try the RevitaLash RevitaBrow® ADVANCED Eyebrow Conditioner Duo and the ADVANCED Eyelash Conditioner Duo to see just how hairy things can get over here.

As far as things I have, use, and love, there are actually quite a few in this category!

The Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant is both a cult and personal favorite. If natural deodorant isn’t exactly cutting it for you I encourage you to try something a bit stronger and bonus, it smells like a dream!

I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Liner daily this summer and it’s the perfect hint of color for everyday wear. I’m considering this set that includes the liner, a lipstick, and a gloss all in the same shade.

Since I’ve started double-cleansing as part of my evening skincare routine I use a washcloth nightly, but I’ve heard great things about the Makeup Erasers and this set includes 10 which is a totally reasonable amount for someone who only does laundry about that often, plus it includes a bag you can wash them in!

Lastly, I’m a huge Tula fan and this set includes a few of my favorites, including the Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser {I use this as my second cleanse after this cleansing balm}, a Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm {great under your concealer}, and a Face Filter Primer Blurring & Moisturizing Primer {you guessed it, another top purchase of 2019!}. You can also use the code LIZBRAGA any time for 15% off at Tula!

Everything Else!

Ok, just a few more things and then we’ll wrap this up!

My very favorite underwear and the only style I wear, the Chantelle Lingerie Soft Stretch Seamless French Cut Briefs are on sale. I’m actually going to stock up on the hipsters to have another style on hand. They are truly seamless and the most comfortable undies I’ve ever worn.

Speaking of undergarments, after nearly 5 months of quarantine I could definitely use a little help in the shaping department. I’ll be stocking up on my favorite Spanx Thinstincts High Waist Mid Thigh Shaper Shorts in both nude and black to wear under slip skirts and slinky dresses. They truly make all the difference.

Speaking of slinky dresses {I’m on a roll here}, I am so intrigued by this ALLSAINTS Tierny Two-Piece Sweater & Slipdress. It’s probably not the most practical purchase right now but I’ll give it a try and report back.

If the last few months at home have taught me anything it’s that matching athleisure sets are my love language. I’ve never tried the Alo brand but I love this Freestyle Mock Neck Sweatshirt {and matching high waist leggings and sports bra}.

If you’re wanting to get a head start on holiday shopping or you’re just looking to be super cozy as we prepare for what’s sure to be a very interesting fall and winter, the Barefoot Dreams In the Wild Throw Blanket has hundreds of rave reviews and is always on the top of every gift guide from Christmas to Mother’s Day.

And lastly, Clare V. is one of my very favorite accessory brands and the last couple years she’s made a few bags exclusive to the Anniversary Sale. I still think about the snakeskin bag that sold out last year before I could buy it so I’m nervously holding my breath for this Clare V. Simple Leopard Print Suede Tote. I’ve been looking for a larger carry-all for fall and the size and print of this one is absolutely perfect. If you’re in need of something slightly smaller, I highly recommend the Clare V. Midi Suede Crossbody Bag.

Wow, that’s it! I’d love to hear if you’re planning to shop the sale this year and what’s on your wishlist! Tell me in the comments below! xo.
