How My Style Has Changed in Florida
In an interesting (but certainly not shocking) turn of events, after moving from Michigan to Florida my closet has required a *complete* overhaul. It’s somewhat surprising how being in a new location can impact your style and having been in Tampa for six months now I feel like I’m fairly confident in dressing for my new environment (and having fun doing so!).
Why I Tried the Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress
Shortly before we moved I purchased my first Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress after seeing it featured on Amelia Styles several times. I never thought an exercise dress quite fit my style (I don’t play tennis or belong to a country club, YET) but the simplicity and functionality of it intrigued me so I bought the basic black version to give it a try.
Why I Love the Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress
When I put it on I was immediately blown away. It was comfortable, the functionality definitely lived up to the hype and it was so so cute and flattering. The dress has attached shorts underneath which makes it totally mom friendly and one side of the shorts has a hidden pocket that can fit keys, a phone, etc. The material holds you in but is super lightweight and starting from the day we moved into our new house it became an absolute staple in my wardrobe.
Like most other fashion related purchases I love, I’ve taken to Poshmark to unlock a hidden selection outside of what can be found on the Outdoor Voices website. I’ve found several fun patterns (leopard! plaid!) as well as staple colors including red, white, and the violet I’m wearing in these photos.
How I Style My Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress
The Outdoor Voices Exercise Dress is so fun to style with a sweatshirt over my shoulders for school drop off and then when the mid-day heat hits it can be styled on its own or with a sweatshirt tied around my waist. Plus if I’m able to sneak in a workout or a dog walk during the day I’m ready, but also can join a Zoom call and look mostly professional (the sweater around the shoulders is key here to cover up just a bit).
I’ve found it fits true to size and is very forgiving. I’m so happy I took a chance on this new to me style and look forward to incorporating it into my spring wardrobe!
