a little motivation

I’m going to be honest today and tell you that I’ve been lacking when it comes to motivating myself to workout this summer. Ken and I were super focused on getting in great shape for our trip to Hawaii at the end of April but once we got back the wheels sort of fell off.

The good news is that since it’s summer we’re way more active in our daily lives – taking walks after dinner, riding our bikes, and chasing a certain toddler around most of the time. But those things are not a replacement for good old fashioned time in the gym {at least for us} so in recognizing that I needed to get back on track I used the quickest tactic I know to motivate myself. Clothes!

When the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicked off a few weeks ago I took advantage of some of the amazing deals on activewear and purchased some great pieces that will totally be in my gym bag for years to come. Unfortunately a lot of my favorite Zella leggings {I got these and these} have already sold out but there are still tons of great pieces left {there’s a roundup below!} and I found a great, inexpensive alternative to the Zella leggings on Amazon!

Can you believe these cute high waist leggings are only $18 on Amazon? Even better, they come in 26 colors! They are really good quality, they’re thick but not hot, you can’t see through them at all, and they have the high waist tummy control that I love. I paired them with this tank and these sneakers which are both still on sale until Sunday!
