our thanksgiving table

I love our dining room for many reasons but one of my favorite things about it is that I can really take advantage of decorating it for the holidays. Because it’s a separate room that doesn’t get used that often I can set up a tablescape days {or even weeks!} in advance and admire it from the other rooms in our house that we do use {like the kitchen}.

For this Thanksgiving set-up I tried to take advantage of things I already had around the house, combined with a few new things that I’ve recently gotten from the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia collection at Target. Please note, this is not in anyway sponsored, I just love Chip and Jo!

I typically try to keep the details on the table simple and minimal. Outside of leaving room for the most important thing, the food, I also don’t want to spend a lot on decor that might only get used for a few occasions.

A few of my favorite elements on the table are the garland {sold out but similar here}, the gold pears which are a hand-me-down from my mom, and the green goblets. I actually bought four of them from a flea market a few weeks ago and then completed the set with these. I love how they pair so well together while also adding character because they’re not all the same.

I’m also super into the black candles. They’re a little outside of my comfort zone {I would typically only use white candles} but worth the risk!

Gold silverware is very in right now and I’ve always wanted a set of my own {so Instagram worthy!}. As luck would have it, when we moved into our home last year the previous owners had left absolutely nothing behind other than a set of 8 gold forks, 7 gold knives, and a few gold spoons. I absolutely love them! I just had to pickup one gold knife to have a full set for our table.

How festive is this dress? I love how the embroidery pops against the beautiful blue velvet. It’s a holiday classic for sure and you can wear it all winter long.

Are you hosting Thanksgiving or another upcoming holiday? I’d love to hear!
